Looking for a delicious, light yet creamy and easy-to-make sauce for your grilled salmon? Read on for one of the tastiest sauces I have ever had. Put that Tartar Sauce away and make this Salmon Sauce yourself!
My family and I love grilled salmon. Grilled salmon is one of the easiest types of fish to grill, regardless if you buy it with our without the skin on. My recipe for Grilled Salman shows just how easy it is! In looking for a light tasty sauce to go with salmon, my wife came up with this recipe. After the first taste I knew instantly that I would never use a heavy tartar sauce again with salmon. While I have not used this sauce with any other types of fish – I see no reason why it won’t be just as tasty! I will keep the tartar sauce for a fish fry!
At first glance at the recipe when I saw cucumber and dill listed as two of the ingredients I didn’t think I would like it. I was wrong. This is a creamy and light sauce, perfect for delicate proteins such as fish. While it does remind me a bit like tzatziki sauce, it’s not as over-powering which allows for the delicious taste of the grilled salmon itself. Next time I grill lamb I will also use this sauce for that as well.
- 1 English Cucumber
- 1 Cup Sour Cream
- 1 Cup Mayo
- 1 Tablespoon of fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 small clove of Garlic – minced
- 1 Teaspoon of Salt
- 2/3rds Cup of fresh Dill
Peel and grate the cucumber and allow to drain for 1 hour.
Mince your glove of garlic.
Mix all the ingredients together well and chill for one hour.
That’s it! Like most of our recipes here on Weekend Grilling, very easy recipes to follow using every-day ingredients.
For even more flavor, coat your salmon in MangiaTV’s Cajun Dry Rub! Salmon is delicious on its own, but with a little kick of MangiaTV’s Cajun Dry Rub and coolness of the Salmon Sauce it’s nothing but a mouthful of flavor!
